The Mid-Autumn is a very important Chinese festival. It falls on the 15th day of August. A few days before the festival, everyone in the family will help to make the house clean and beautiful. Lanterns will be hung in front of the house. On the evening there will be a big family dinner. People who work far away from their homes will try to come back for the union. After dinner, people will light the lanterns which are usually red and round. Children will play with their own toy lanterns happily. At night the moon is usually round and bright. People can enjoy the moon while eating moon-cakes which are the special food for this festival. They can look back on the past and look forward to the future together. It is said that there was a dragon in the sky. The dragon wanted to swallow up the moon. To protect the frighten the dragon away.

But Today, Chinese visit their family graves to tend to any underbrush that has grown. Weeds are pulled, and dirt swept away, and the family will set out offerings of food and spirit money. Unlike the sacrifices at a family's home altar, the offerings at the tomb usually consist of dry, bland food. One theory is that since any number of ghosts rome around a grave area, the less appealing food will be consumed by the ancestors, and not be plundered by strangers.
With the passing of time, this celebration of life became a day to the honor past ancestors. Following folk religion, the Chinese believed that the spirits of deceased ancestors looked after the family. Sacrifices of food and spirit money could keep them happy, and the family would prosper through good harvests and more children.

I believe everyone is eager for comfortable, peaceful life and hating wars. So the United Stations decide to set up an International Day of peace. It falls on the third Tuesday of September every year, aiming at celebrating the day that the global realize ceasefires and non-violence. Its symbol is a flying dove. It represents peace. This festival is the day for people from all walks of life. The international community including the United Nations has made unremitting efforts for the realization of regional stability and world peace over the years. However, nowadays, War, terrorism, regional conflicts and other forms of violence hostile activities still exist. It is a long way to go for people to realize the real peace ideal. Dragon Boat Festival is a Chinese traditional festival. It falls on the fifth day of May in the lunar calendar. A day before this festival, my mother and grandmother began to make zongzi. Of course, I would act as assistant. But it turned out that I was more of a hindrance than a help. When they finished, they started to cook them. This process needed a long time, because I could have them in the next day. Zongzi was very delicious. On the day of dragon boat festival, our family prepared for dinner after having breakfast. Everyone of my family will come back home for the solid diet. Chicken is indispensable on the dinner desk in Chinese traditional festival. There were many delicious foods, which made me watering. Mid-autumn Festival is a popular and important lunar harvest festival celebrated by Chinese people. The festival is held on the 15thday of the eighth month in the Chinese calendar. The other tradition of mid-autumn festival is eating moon cake. Moon cake is the essential of that day, which means reunion. The Dragon Boat Festival, also called the Duanwu Festival, is celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth month according to the Chinese calendar. For thousands of years, the festival has been marked by eating zong zi (glutinous ricewrapped to form a pyramid using bamboo or reed leaves) and racing dragon boats.The festival is best known for its dragon-boat races, especially in the southern provinces where there are many rivers and lakes. The international workers’day, also known as May day, is celebrated on the first day on May. There are more than eighty countries celebrate this festival since 1889. People may know that the worker’s day is about having a rest on that day, but most of them don’t know how this day comes from and the story behind it.
五一国际劳动节，又称为五一节，在每年的5月1日庆祝。从1889年开始，全球共有超过八十个国家庆祝这一节日。人们可能会认为劳动节就是在5月1日放假，不用上班，但大多数人不知道劳动节是怎么来的以及它背后的故事。
In the late of 18 century, the cruel capitalists in order to make more money, they demanded their employers to work all day, but only paid them with low salaries. In America, the workers had to work at least 14 hours a day, sometimes, they even worked as long as 18 hours. Due to the unfair payment, the works knew that they had to stand up and fight for their rights, or all of them will die young. Then the workers started to go on strike, demanded that the reasonable working hours should be 8 hours a day. However, the capitalists did not pay attention to the workers’demand. The workers had to fight for their rights for themselves. On may 1st, 1886, the United States and Canada’s worker unions got together to start the biggest strike. After that day, the law had passed the rules that the workers’working hours would be 8 hours per day. This strike had made a different. The worker did not need to suffer from the long working hours with low payment.

Every year January 1st is the New Year’s Day. New Year’s Day is the first day in a year, which people regard it as the beginning of the whole year. It is a holiday for memories and for hopes. Chinese always believe that a good beginning will make a whole year become smoothly. So, it is an important festival that nearly everyone will have a day off.
每年的1月1日是元旦。元旦是一年中的第一天，人们把它当作是一年的开始。元旦是一个对过去充满回忆、对未来充满期待的一个节日。中国人总是觉得一个好的开始可以使接下来的一整年顺顺利利的。所以，那是一个很重要的节日，几乎每个人都会有一天假。

New Year in china is an important festival. Nearly everyone thinks highly of it. No matter where people go and no matter how far they go, they will try their best to go home enjoying family time. What do people usually do during the New Year time? They will prepare a big meal together on New Year’s Eve. In the following days, they will visit their relatives.
