大家好!
今天，我想给大家说一个故事，名为《雏鹰》。无论是多么坚强，多么强壮，多么勇敢的雏鹰，都难以抵抗人们的无知与愚昧。七月盛夏，热得厉害。男孩在丛林之中无聊地穿梭着。放假了，在家闲着也是闲着，不如出去转转。毒辣的阳光如燃烧的火焰，男孩的汗从耳根缓缓从衣领流到衣服里，全身便都湿透了，紧紧地包裹着这个瘦小的躯体，让他喘不过气来。这时，他的眼中出现了一个小黑点。男孩情不自禁地走了过去，啊，是一只中暑的雏鹰。
羽毛尚未丰满，已经奄奄一息了，那黑黑的眼珠目光有点呆滞。男孩迅速捧起它，捧起这个小小的生命，飞似的跑回了家，用手沾了沾凉水，洒在它的身上，它依然未醒，男孩开始为这个正与死神抗争的小生灵祈祷。晚上，它终于睁开了眼睛，抖抖沾湿的羽毛。然后，用黑亮的眼睛打量着这个完全陌生的地方，打量着这个男孩。它想飞，却没有一点力气，便又一头倒在了男孩精心为他准备的窝里，睡了。第二天清晨，男孩摘来了两颗草莓，放在雏鹰的窝前。
可能是由于害怕，它开始并不敢吃。终于在饥饿的驱使下，它顾不上，不一会儿便将两颗草莓吃得干干净净，又过了几天，它开始对男孩放松戒备了。男孩的成绩很好，每天晚上他都要在昏暗的烛光下学习。每到此时，雏鹰便站在练习簿旁，惊异地望着男孩手中的笔。偶尔，它会跳到男孩的本子上，用黑亮的小嘴敲击那枝笔，男孩总是乐。这时，雏鹰又随着男孩的手臂爬上男孩瘦弱的肩头，男孩便有极大的成就感，他仿佛觉得肩头上站立着的是一只真正的雄鹰。当男孩看到本子上一个个满分，墙上一面面奖状是，男孩哭了，而在那充满自信与喜悦的哭声中夹杂着一丝不安。雏鹰是有理想、有抱负的，它终究要飞，要在它向往的蓝天上展翅高飞。

in a sense we've come to our nation's capital to cash a check. when the architects of our republic wrote the magnificent words of the constitution and the declaration of independence, they were signing a promissory note to which every american was to fall heir. this note was a promise that all men, yes, black men as well as white men, would be guaranteed the “unalienable rights” of “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.” it is obvious today that america has defaulted on this promissory note, insofar as her citizens of color are concerned. instead of honoring this sacred obligation, america has given the negro people a bad check, a check which has come back marked “insufficient funds.”
but we refuse to believe that the bank of justice is bankrupt. we refuse to believe that there are insufficient funds in the great vaults of opportunity of this nation. and so, we've come to cash this check, a check that will give us upon demand the riches of freedom and the security of justice.
we have also come to this hallowed spot to remind america of the fierce urgency of now. this is no time to engage in the luxury of cooling off or to take the tranquilizing drug of gradualism. now is the time to make real the promises of democracy. now is the time to rise from the dark and desolate valley of segregation to the sunlit path of racial justice. now is the time to lift our nation from the quicksands of racial injustice to the solid rock of brotherhood. now is the time to make justice a reality for all of god's children.
