Coal exploration has a long history, and coal miners has been praised as the“Envois of brightness and warmth. We are very proud of the glorious cause we have been doing!
At the new era, we witnessed the social and economic development as well as scientific and technological progress, dramatic changes have taken place in the global coal industry. Coal demand continues to increase; enterprise restructuring is speeding up, production efficiency has greatly improved, coal utilization has become diversified.[dai'v:sifai], clean coal technology has caught worldwide attention, and the cooperation and collaboration between coal companies is much more frequent and closer. Strengthening international economic cooperation has become the natural
choice for countries around the world.

Yet here in the United States, our federal government is seeking to become the only country in the world to withdraw from the Paris Climate Agreement – the only one. Not even North Korea is doing that.
Those in Washington who deny the science of climate change are no more based in reality than those who believe the moon landing was faked. And while the moon landing conspiracy theorists are relegated to the paranoid corners of talk radio, climate skeptics occupy the highest positions of power in the United States government.
Now, in the administration’s defense, climate change, they say, is only a theory – yeah, like gravity is only a theory.
People can ignore gravity at their own risk, at least until they hit the ground. But when they ignore the climate crisis, they are not only putting themselves at risk, they are putting all humanity at risk.

记得在两周之前我们第一次相聚在这里的时候，我曾经送给三个欢迎，它们分别是欢迎来到杭州，欢迎来到杭外教育，欢迎来到杭州英特英语村。现在我们可以自豪地说，我们已经进一步了解了杭州这座美丽的城市，我们在西湖边与美丽的荷花合影，我们在浙江博物馆领略古老精致的江南文明;我们在杭外的外语特色教育中认识了新的英语学习方式，我们见到黄头发蓝眼睛的外籍教师也不再感到胆怯;最重要的是，我们在杭州英特英语村学会了共同相处，学会了第一次独立洗衣服，第一次在集体宿舍里入睡，第一次拿着话筒偷偷地掉眼泪。来英特前我们勇敢地对自己说：我一定能做到!而现在回首起来，大家不但做到了，而且做得很出色!你们都坚持到了最后，并且如我所要求的那样，做到了三个收获：第一，收获了英语能力的提升，第二，收获了独立生活的能力，第三，收获了宝贵的友情。每天读着大家的日记，字里行间体现出来的师生之情，同伴之谊，都让我深深感动。所以在这里，我想请大家把最热烈的掌声送给在座的`每一位营员，你们都是好样的!
不过，在大家尽情享受英语村带来的欢乐的同时，我们不能忘记，是谁24小时时刻保障着我们的安全，是谁在我们身体不适的时候第一时间送来关怀和温暖，是谁清晨6点半便早早地来到寝室门口守候，在我们夜不能寐的时候陪在我们的身边，是谁在我们受了委屈的时候送来宽慰，在我们犯了错误的时候婉言批评并且善意包容，是谁将杭外最原汁原味的英语教材呈现在我们的面前，是谁牺牲着休息的时间一遍遍地带我们排练节目，是谁总是出现在教室里每天带我们早读，是谁在我们已经入睡的时候为第二天的网络报道而连夜编辑，又是谁每天6节课的工作强度却没有一句抱怨，并且把我们的英语村营员的热情一次又一次地激发。是的，正是所有英语村工作的老师们和全体工作人员，他们的爱心，才华，勤恳，和奉献，才使得本次英语村活动到今天能够取得预期的圆满成功。老师们是本次英语村最可敬可爱的人，让我们用发自内心的掌声感谢他们!Thankyouall,teachersatEnglishVillage!

you all are leaving your alma mater now. i have no gift to present you all except a piece of advice.
what i would like to advise is that ”don’t give up your study.“ most of the courses you have taken are partly for your certificate. you had no choice but to take them. from now on, you may study on your own. i would advise you to work hard at some special field when you are still young and vigorous. your youth will be gone that will never come back to you again. when you are old, and when your energy are getting poorer, you will not be able to as you wish to. even though you have to study in order to make a living, studies will never live up to you. making a living without studying, you will be shifted out in three or five years. at this time when you hope to make it up, you will say it is too late. perhaps you will say, ”after graduation and going into the society, we will meet with an urgent problem, that is, to make a living. for this we have no time to study. even though we hope to study, we have no library nor labs, how can we study further?“
i would like to say that all those who wait to have a library will not study further even though they have one and all these who wait to have a lab will not do experiments even though they have one. when you have a firm resolution and determination to solve a problem, you will naturally economize on food and clothing.
as for time, i should say it’s not a problem. you may know that every day he could do only an hour work, not much more than that because darwin was ill for all his life. you must have read his achievements. every day you spend an hour in reading 10 useful pages, then you will read more than 3650 pages every year. in 30 years you will have read 110,000 pages.
my fellow students, reading 110,000 pages will make you a scholar. but it will take you an hour to read three kinds of small-sized newspapers and it will take you an hour and a half to play four rounds of mahjian pieces. reading small-sized newspapers or playing mahjian pieces, or working hard to be a scholar? it’s up to you all.

Dear Chinese Friends,
Tonight, we come to the end of 16 glorious days which we will cherish forever.
Thank you to the people of China, all the wonderful volunteers and BOCOG!
Through these Games, the world learned more about China, and China learned more about the world. Athletes from 204 National Olympic Committees came to these dazzling venues and awed us with their talent.
New stars were born. Stars from past Games amazed us again. We shared their joys and their tears, and we marveled at their ability. We will long remember the achievements we witnessed here.
As we celebrate the success of these Games, let us together wish the best for the talented athletes who will soon participate in the Paralympic Games. They also inspire us.
To the athletes tonight: You were true role models. You have shown us the unifying power of sport. The Olympic spirit lives in the warm embrace of competitive rivals from nations in conflict. Keep that spirit alive when you return home.
These were truly exceptionnal Games!
