俄罗斯的高等教育极为发达，高中生只要努力，一般都能进入大学，所以学士学位在俄罗斯实在平常得很。俄罗斯的大学要经历5年的时间，但是其间学生只要有充分理由，可以申请休学1年。
欧丽娅所住的城市有12所大学，她上的是其中最大的一所。一开始很奇怪那大学的名字，直译过来就是综合技术大学。原来俄罗斯的大学分类很细，有专门的师范大学、医科大学等，欧丽娅自诩是“纯数理化的脑袋”，就选择了这间理科大学，主修经济。在俄罗斯上大学，学费并不便宜，而且每年都按照与美元的比率做调整，加上国立大学差不多都被私立大学取代，对供养大学生的家庭确实是不小的负担;但是中学里最优秀的学生却有全部免费的机会。在中学最后一年会有一次统一的全国考试，如果全部科目都取得满分5分的成绩，国家就发给一枚金色的勋章，可以光荣地免费上大学。但可想而知，荣誉的取得也是相当艰难的。
