Table Manners
The main difference between Chinese and western eating habits is that unlike the West,where everyone has their own plate of food,in China the dishes are placed on the table and everybody shares.
If you are being treated by a Chinese host,be prepared for a ton of food.
Chinese are very proud of their culture of cuisine and will do their best to show their hospitality.
And sometimes the Chinese host use their chopsticks to put food in your bowl or plate.
This is a sign of politeness.
The appropriate thing to do would be to eat the whatever-it-is and say how yummy it is.
If you feel uncomfortable with this,you can just say a polite thank you and leave the food there.
Eating No-no's
Don't stick your chopsticks upright in the rice bowl.
Instead,lay them on your dish.
The reason for this is that when somebody dies,the shrine to them contains a bowl of sand or rice with two sticks of incense stuck upright in it.
So if you stick your chopsticks in the rice bowl,it looks like this shrine and is equivalent to wishing death upon a person at the table!
Make sure the spout of the teapot is not facing anyone.
It is impolite to set the teapot down where the spout is facing towards somebody.
The spout should always be directed to where nobody is sitting,usually just outward from the table.
Don't tap on your bowl with your chopsticks.
Beggars tap on their bowls,so this is not polite.
Also,when the food is coming too slow in a restarant,people will tap their bowls.
If you are in someone's home,it is like insulting the cook.
Drinking
Gan Bei!(Cheers!“Gan Bei” literally means “dry [the] glass”) Besides beer,the official Chinese alcoholic beverage is Bai Jiu,high-proof Chinese liquor made from assorted grains.
There are varying degrees of Bai Jiu.
The Beijing favorite is called Er Guo Tou,which is a whopping 56% alcohol.
More expensive are Maotai and Wuliangye

American eating is funny.They eat almost everything with a fork,and it appears that holding a knife in one's right hand longer than a few seconds is considered to be against good table manners.

Some Breakfast Dishes 早餐食谱Breakfast in a restaurant is a very enjoyable experience.If you order eggs in a restaurant,the waiter/waitress will ask you how you want them .You can reply that you want them “scrambled(炒)”or “boiled”.It is not sufficient,however,to ask for them “fried”you will have to specify whether you would prefer them “sunny-side-up”(煎一面),“over”(两面煎),“over-easy/easy-over”(两面煎,但蛋黄仍然呈流体状).

第一:迎客
席座一般的程序是
主人给客人邀请函——日子到了,主人到门外迎客——客人到了,问候几句——带着可人到0客厅小坐一会儿,给客人茶点——带客人入席坐好!
第二:入座与座次
首先要请客人中长者或地位高的先入座,再按身份地位依次入座,入座时要从椅子左边进入。(正对门口的为上座,一般是根据对方的身份地位来安排)。
入座后不要动筷子,更不要弄出什么响声来,也不要起身走动。如果有什么事要向主人打招呼!(做小辈的不容易啊!)
第三:点菜
作为主人:在时间允许的情况下,你应该在客人都到后,将菜单供客人传阅,并请他们来点菜。
作为来宾:你不要太主动,要让主人和长者来点!
第四:吃
1、进餐时,先请客人中长者或地位高的动筷子。
2、夹菜时每次少一些,离自己远的菜就少吃一些。
3、吃饭时不要出声音,喝汤也不要有声音。
4、进餐时不要打嗝,也不要出现其他声音。如果忍不住了,就要说一声“真不好意思”之类的话,以示歉意。
5、吃到鱼刺、骨头等异物时,不要往外面吐,也不要往地上扔,要慢慢用手拿到自己的碟子里,或放在紧靠自己的餐桌边或纸上。

一、中餐上菜顺序
标准的中餐,不论何种风味,其上菜顺序大体相同。通常是首先上冷盘,接着是热炒,随后是主菜,然后上点心喝汤,最后上水果拼盘。当冷盘吃剩三分之一时,开始上第一道菜,一般每桌要安排十个热菜,宴会上桌数再多,各桌也要同时上菜。
上菜时如果由服务员给每个人上菜,要按照先主宾侯主人,先女士后男士或按顺时针方向依次进行。如果有个人取菜,每道菜应放在主宾面前,有主宾开始按顺时针方向依次取菜。却不可迫不及待地越位取菜。
二、用餐时如何使用毛巾和餐巾
正式宴会前,会为每位用餐者上一条湿毛巾,它是用来擦手的,不能用来擦脸、擦嘴、擦汗。宴会结束时,再上一块湿毛巾,它是用来擦嘴的,不能用来擦脸、擦汗。正式宴会上,还为每位用餐者准备一条餐巾。它应当铺放在并拢之后的大腿上,而不能把它围在脖子上,或掖在衣领里、腰带上。餐巾可用于轻抹嘴部和手,但不能用于擦餐具或擦汗。
三、用中餐的礼仪要求
由于中餐的特点和食用习惯,参见中餐宴会时,要注意一下几点:
1、上菜后,不要先拿筷,应等主人邀请,主宾拿筷时再拿筷。取菜时要相互礼让,依次进行,不要争抢。取菜时要适量,不要把对自己口味的好菜一人包干。
2、为表示友好、热情,彼此之间可以让菜,劝对方品尝,但不要为他人布菜,不要擅自做主,不论对方是否喜欢,不要主动为其夹菜、添饭,以免让人家为难。
3、不要挑菜,不要在共用的菜盘里挑挑拣拣、翻来翻去、挑肥拣瘦。取菜时,要看准后夹住立即取走。不能夹起来又放下,或取回来又放回去。
四、中餐就餐礼仪
1,聚会是时常有的是,大的,小的,正式的,非正式的,一周就有好几天,有时还安排不过来,面对不同的场合,随着性质的不同,我们参加时候的心态也会不一样,例如是参加 一个闺蜜的生日party,那当然是轻松愉悦的,显得比较随意。但如果是参加公司同行聚会,就会提高警惕,以防出错。所有,心态的不同就会导致人在此次聚会的表现。最简单也是最容易出错的一个就是入座的问题。这个要跟大家强调的是,一般在入座时是从椅子的左侧入座。如果大家都是遵循这样的礼仪,那么就不会再人多或紧张的时候因为方向的问题而发生碰撞。而且入座后姿势端正,脚踏在本人座位下,不可随意伸直。男女都一样,因为在一下场合,女性的衣着可能会比较简短,这也是为了避免误会。坐下之后,肘不可靠边缘,或者放在邻椅的椅背上。这样的姿态也显得特别不美观,会降低个人档次。
2,用餐时,无论是饥寒碌碌还是什么其他情况,始终要保持温文尔雅,从容冷静,不可急躁。在餐桌上,不能只顾自己,还要关心他人,更不可以在遇到自己喜爱口味的饭菜就使劲地吃,有失大体。尤其是招呼两侧的客人。时不时寒暄几句,表示关心。因为五湖四海的朋友们,口味都是各不相同。这也给聚餐时添加一点气氛。同事还应该避免在餐桌上咳嗽打喷嚏,这样会给人的感觉很不卫生。万一不禁,应该马上把头低下或转过身去,同时应说声对不起。彰显礼貌。
