比如,你是否会很轻松地反问考官:“What can I call you?”
有个考生第二次考8分的时候被问到一个问题:“Are physical exercises popular in China?” 所以我立刻说:“because there is a National Physical Exercises Program in China. You can see there are a lot of physical exercise equipment in the communities, such as…” 我立刻说:“I can't explain it very clearly, but…”就这一句话,我就给自己解围了,而且一个but,又可以停顿两秒钟,然后再说:“you can see there are many children and old people doing exercises in the morning and in the evening”。
这位考生第一次考8分的时候,在Part 3被问到:“Have you learned any other languages?”说:“Yes, I have learned some Russian words.” 于是立刻满脸笑容地补充道:“It means I want to invite you to lunch.”
I don’t like doing housework; it’s boring and tedious. I think I’d rather do homework than housework.
I don’t know my neighbors very well. I seldom meet them because I spend most of my time at school. And on weekends, I tend to stay home doing my own stuff. And even if I meet them, say, in the elevator, we just say hello, but we never really talk.
Well, I used to watch a lot of cartoons when I was a kid. But now, most of my time is spent either on my iPhone or doing homework. I don’t really watch TV now.
Birthdays are not that important to me now, and I really don’t wanna find the time to celebrate. Last time, I did buy a birthday cake though, and I celebrated with my classmates at school.
Frankly, I don’t read newspapers. Young people like me get news mostly from social media such as Wechat or Facebook.
I prefer Emails because they’re more convenient. I mean you can send them on your phone or computer. Writing a letter, however, you need to buy an envelope and stamps. I don’t mind the money, but it does seem complicated.
When it comes to school, I don’t like to take public transport because my home is very close to where I study. Besides, walking is a good exercise and not taking public transport can help me save a few bucks for my parents, you know.
1. “Chinese people use trees as chopsticks.” 应该是use trees for making chopsticks吧?
2. “I think environmental protection is essential but not so important.”
3. “Without electricity, the world would become so dark that a person could not even see a hand in front of his face.”
4. “Watching TV is convenient and people can avoid traffic jam” (这又是什么逻辑?
5. “I like writing because it is good for your health.”
(Why?......)
6. “My grandmother is 98 years old so she is very pure.”
7. “As we all know, every advantage has its disadvantage.” (......
8. “The rate of net-cheating has boomed by 1.27% in the past 2 years.” 应该用climb或edge up。)
9. “Modern ways of life brings people some healthy diseases.”
10. “My father is a photograph......”
11. “The data is very astonished!”
12. “At that time, I was studied at university.” 应该是I was studying at university。)
13. “Traveling can enlarge our eyesight.” 应该是broaden our horizon吧。)
14. “Today, more and more people are getting old.” (不是more and more people在变老,是everybody!
15. -“Are you a student or are you working now?”
-“Oh, in my opinion, I am a student.” (为什么要加in my opinion?
16. “You need some skills, such as a partner, to play table tennis.”
17. “China is a big country, so we have four seasons.”
(Environment)
Read the following IELTS-style questions and answers below and pay attention to the phrases in bold. Use the ‘Definitions’ section at the bottom of the page to check the meaning of any phrases you don’t understand.
Part 1
Examiner: Are there any environmental problems in your country?
Kelly: Yes … we have a serious issue with pollution levels in some of our big cities … exhaust fumes from cars and lorriesare definitely one reason for the problem but we also have a lot of heavy industry in some areas and this also results in poor air quality …
Examiner: Do you take an interest in nature?
Jenny: Well … I’m a city person through and through and don’t get back to nature very often I’m afraid … but like everyone else I’m fascinated by the natural world and I like watching documentaries showing wild animals in their natural habitat …
Examiner: Do you or your family take steps to help the environment?
Mira: My parents have always tried to make us aware of our impact on the environment… they’re really into energy conservation … and always try to
buy environmentally friendly products if they have the chance …
Part 2
Describe an environmental problem that has been in the news. You should say
when this was
where the event happened
what actually took place
and say how you felt about this problem.
Martin: Well … this is an interesting question … there are so many issues I could think of … natural disasters like earthquakes and floods seem to be in the news almost every year … but there was one story recently about some animals that were under threat … it wasn’t focused on one place in particular … it was looking at various animals that could actually become extinct in different African countries … if we don’t take steps to protect them … these were really iconic animals like gorillas … leopards … rhinos … and apparently they’re now listed as endangered species … what made it really depressing was they were in danger thanks to us … in some cases it was due to a loss of habitat either because people need more agricultural production … or even worse I think … because of hunting and poaching … I hate to think of future generations being robbed of the chance to see creatures like these in their natural environment … it’s lucky we have lots of organisations that focus on wildlife conservation … hopefully with their help we can put pressure on those in power to do something to stop creatures like these dying out …
Part 3
Examiner: What do you think is the main danger the world faces in terms of the environment?
Spencer: Well … climate change is a real issue … in my country we have flash floods and heatwaves on a yearly basis … so yes … I think global warming is the biggest issue.
Examiner: What examples are there of how we damage the natural world?
Stella: There are so many examples … there are factories that empty toxic waste into rivers and oceans … oil spills that damage the coastline … the way we destroy vast areas of land and rain forests in search of fossil fuels or to increase agricultural production …
Examiner: In which ways do we respond well to environmental problems?
Mathius: Well … on the one hand there are various worldwide agencies that are always the first on the scene with humanitarian aid after natural and man-made disasters … and on the other hand we have environmental pressure groups that are constantly raising awareness of issues and trying to stop disasters happening …

1.fluency andcoherence (流利度和连贯性)
2.lexical resource(词汇)
3.grammatical range and accuracy (语法)
举个例子:what do you think of fashion?
Well, it is really hard to say, you know, every coin has twosides. Personally, there are both advantages and disadvantages with regard to this issue, and I may say the advantages first. One of the major advantages is...
Well, to the best of my knowledge/ as far as I am concerned, I may give vote tothe former/latter opinion...
1.What kinds of snacks do you like to eat?
2.Is it healthy to eat snacks?
3.Do your parents allow you to eat snacks?
4.What was the most popular snack when you were young?
5.What kinds of snacks do children in your country like to eat nowadays?
A snack is a small portion of food eaten between meals. The food might be snack food—items like potato chips or baby carrots—but could also simply be a small amount of any food.(quoted from Wikipedia)我们发现对于snack的定义还是很广的我们能想到的符合定义的食物包括potato chips, chocolate, ice-cream, cookies, shrimp chips, nut, fruits and vegetables, low-fat dairy products等等有的相对健康,有的也对健康会有一定的危害然后根据自己的立场选择喜欢还是不喜欢,给出对应的例子和原因就OK啦
Reasons/Pros:
yummy/ tasty 美味的
For girls, it is a good idea to carry some snacks in case of low blood sugar (低血糖).
Helps to outlet pressure when feeling nervous
I have a sweet tooth. 馋~
Reasons/Cons:
1. Do you like eating snacks?
Like: I like/ enjoy/ am into/ am a big fan of/ am crazy about…/ am obsessed with/ am addicted to…
Dislike: I dont like…/I am not into/ I cannot stand/ something is not my thing…
Yes, I have to admit that I am crazy about eating snacks. Every time I go to the supermarkets, I buy myself loads of snacks, and I even buy snacks online, Amazon or Taobao. I have a huge sweet tooth, I am kinda addicted to chocolates and ice-cream.
2. Is it healthy to eat snacks?
Well, it really depends on what types of snacks we are talking about now; some of the snacks are quite wholesome, like fruits and low-fat dairy products, which are very nutritious; whereas eating some snacks like potato chips and shrimp chips might lead to obesity.
3. What was the most popular snack when you were a child?
Well, I guess it varies from gender to gender, for boys they might enjoy eating some snacks like fried shrimp chips or burgers; but for girls, I assume every girl has a sweet tooth, ice cream, lollipop, chocolates are popular among them.
4.What kinds of snacks do children in your country like to eat nowadays?
Well, I guess it varies from gender to gender, for boys they might enjoy eating some snacks like fried shrimp chips or burgers; but for girls, I assume every girl has a sweet tooth, ice cream, lollipop, chocolates are popular among them.
Or:Well, I have to say that the types and choices of snacks for children now have changed greatly. In the past, children normally could only choose some local-produced snacks, but now, some introduced snacks are quite popular among kids.
比如,why there are more and more young couples choosing not to have children?
why there are more and more young couples in China choosing not to have children?
There could be many reasons for this. Such as no $, no time, no interest.
当然可以broade your vision and horizen,,也能enlarge your social network, 还有learn different cultures,of course live a different life,最important可能是离开父母独立生活,省的听他们唠叨(别告诉我你们从来没想过!),但可能花money太多( 心疼,还不如现在就给我开个油炸臭豆腐摊子赚钱,吸引风险投资去美国上市)等等。
Fluency & Coherence
Grammatical Range & Accuracy
Pronunciation

Indoor Games
1. Do you play any indoor games?
Absolutely yes! Playing indoor games is a must-do activity for me and my friends. The best part of it is that you don't have to prepare much or spend money, by simply following the instruction you can get tons of fun together with friends.
2. Do you prefer to play indoor games or outdoor games?
Well, I'll definitely choose indoor games. Lazy bones as I am, playing outdoor games is a basically a waste of energy. Even thinking about the burning sun and clothes soaked with sweat makes me sick. On the contrary, indoor games can energize me without spending too much energy. So indoor games is no doubt my type.
3. What indoor games did you play when you were a child?
Well, there are lots of indoor games to play for me when I was a child. Card game, puzzles and indoor hopscotch 室内跳房子 were all very much interesting. More than that, I think it's also my parents' company that comforted me. No matter how busy they were, they always took some time from their tight schedule and played with me.
4. Is there any particular indoor games that you liked when you were a child?
Looking back to my childhood, playing hide and seek was the utmost important activity to me. I always enjoyed the excitement when I was hiding. My heart flooded with adrenaline as the seeker approached. As they left, the heart felt relief again excited me. Moreover, playing hide and seek can also build a close relationship with my friends. This indoor game now become my most cherished childhood memory.
5. What sort of indoor games do children play now?
I think children nowadays are more than willing to play video games. Take my nephew for example, whenever I propose to play hide and seek, he shows obviously no interest in it. Nevertheless, the moment I start my PS4, he will rush to my side and stare at me keenly. I guess virtual games now has taken over reality games.
6. Do you think the young people should spend a lot of time on playing games?
Well, I think so. I think the children can make many friends when playing games together and I think it is a good opportunity for them to broaden the social circle. Moreover, the children may play games with other friends, so I think the children can be more active and cooperative during this process.
Describe an important river/ area of water in your country
You should say:
How long the river is
Where it is
What it looks like
Why it is important
Long River?
Speaking of an important river, I would like to talk about the Yangtse river, which is the biggest and longest river in China. It’s about 6,300 kilometers long.
The Yangtse River lies in the south of China. It stretches to 11 provinces in China and drains nearly one-fifth of the land areas of China.
If you see it on the map, you will find it looks not that special, maybe just like any other rivers, for example, the Nile or something. However, when you take a closer look at it, you won’t feel like it’s something that other rivers can copy.
I remember when I was in the grade 9, I took a boat trip with my parents to Sanxia, where we saw the most stunning view of the Yangtse River along with the tall green mountains like Shennv Feng.
It is indeed very important, not only for the local residents who need the water for life, but it is also crucial for the entire nation, because there’s the Three Gorges Dam lies on it, and it ha’s been generating a lot of electrical power, which is used for all the families and industries in China.
Describe a famous athlete you know
You should say:
Who he or she is
How you know him or her
What he or she has achieved
Why he is famous
(Describe a famous athlete you know)
Hopefully everyone reading this is at least familiar with some famous sports stars. You don’t need to be a fanatic to answer this question well… but it might help! You just need to be able to think of a person, describe what he or she does, when and where you first encountered this person, and give some reasons why you admire them.
As always, you should be writing some short notes in preparation, rather than any sentences. Mark down any vocabulary that comes to mind and which you think will help. But mostly write down words that will help you to structure your speech – this makes your words sound more natural.
1.brainstorm
Leo Messi
Argentina->Barcelona
Disability
Awards
Perseverance
My favourite sports person is Leo Messi. He’s a famous football player, and some would say he’s the best football player in the world. He started his career in Argentina, where he was born, but moved to Barcelona, in Spain, when he was a teenager. He had a disability, for which the Spanish team agreed to pay his medical bills. Despite his health problems, Messi developed into a modern legend. He has won numerous trophiesover the course of his career, including five “world footballer of the year” awards – which is a world record. I remember first hearing about him about ten years ago, when he was first making headlines. I admire him because of his triumph over adversity. I think that his inspiring story of perseverance is a lesson for us all.
比如,雅思考生是否会很轻松地反问考官:“What can I call you?”
首当其冲的是th的发音,凡是遇到th我们都要咬舌头,比如the, think, this, mother, both, three, through, month, maths。
Neither father nor mother likes this weather.
容易/n//l/淆 的常见词还有:let,like,live,light,low,night,ninenose,net等等。
Mike likes to write by the nice bright light at night.
I like the shape of that mountain.(包含了四个容易混淆的元音)
双元音是指音标中的八个音[ei][ai][?i][au][?u] [i?][ε?][u?]。
Describe a new skill you’d like to learn.
You should say:
what it is
who you want to learn it from
how you are going to learn it
and explain why you want to learn it.
I think it would be really cool to learn kung fu!
Kung fu, known as gong fu in Chinese, is a form of Chinese martial arts. There are many different styles and I think it’d be great to know any of them.
I’ve grown up watching kung fu films, I’ve also visited the Shaolin temple in Henan and it’s always a thrill to see what they can do. I’d love to be able to study kung fu so that I could perform awesome flips and other moves and impress my friends. They’d be blown away if I could run up a wall or break bricks with my hand. It would also be great for my fitness and I’d probably end up with a six-pack! If I got really good I could be famous and there might be a statue of me, like the one of Bruce Lee in Hong Kong.
Ideally I’d like to learn from an old master, like you see in the movies and on TV. I can picture him having a long white beard which he plays with when he’s thinking; he’d say wise things and quote old proverbs. Even though he’s old and looks quite fragile, he can do amazing moves and is still very quick.
In all honesty, if we’re being realistic, I’d say it’d probably a bit of a pie-in-the-sky idea. I wouldn’t know where to start and I’m not exactly the most active person. I think I lack the dedication required, as I’d much rather be watching kung fu movies than exerting myself!
Describe a traditional festival.
You should say:
what it is
when it is celebrated
how it is celebrated
and explain how you feel about this traditional festival.
We have many traditional festivals in China, the most famous one being Spring Fes-tival, or Chinese New Year. But I’d like to talk about a festival that occurs every year around September or early October, called Zhong Qiu Jie, or Mid-Autumn Day. It is perhaps lesser-known outside of China, but it is personally one of my favourite fes-tivals and one that I look forward to every year.
As the name suggests, Mid-Autumn Day should take place around the middle of au-tumn. The reason the date changes is because it should be the fifteenth day of the eighth month in the Chinese lunar calendar, and this changes in the Western calen-dar depending on the year.
The reason it is one of my favourite festivals is because we eat moon cakes! As well as being delicious, moon cakes have a special meaning. They are round, which is a symbol of family and togetherness. They usually have a sweet filling, which represents a sweet and happy life. Moon cakes are generally only around at this time of year, so it’s important to make the most of them while you can.
As you can tell, I’m a big fan of Mid-Autumn Day. It makes me feel warm, thinking about my family, and a little nostalgic as I remember all the years I have eaten moon cakes. I think it’s very important to keep these traditional festivals going as they rein-force Chinese culture and remind us to think about our families at a time when more and more people may live a long way from home.
Describe a book you liked to read in your childhood.
You should say:
who wrote this book
what it is about
hen you read it
and explain why you liked it.
I wasn’t much of a bookworm but I did occasionally read novels from time to time during my childhood. In fact, I’d like to talk about a book I read when I was 9 years old, written by Li Hong. Its English name translates as ‘Hero’.
I would have been in primary school at the time, I guess around grade 4, but I can’t remember exactly off the top of my head. Bear in mind that in those days I would rather go outside and play with my friends than read a book, but I remember this book in particular taking up a large portion of my time.
The book is actually the first in a series of 6 books that are set in a fantasy world of old magic, monsters and knights in shining armour. It is set on an epic scale across a vast, vibrant and immensely detailed world with each chapter dedicated to just one character’s viewpoint. It’s perfect for a young boy with a vivid imagination, looking for a bit of adventure.
In this way I think the book really stands out from the others I have read. The plot lines twist and turn with many surprises and cliff-hangers so I found it almost impossible to put down. The speed the story develops makes the book a real page-turner and even though it is nearly 1000 pages long I got through it in under a fortnight.
I went to the park with my friend the other day. She was my good friend in high school and we haven’t seen each other for almost a year. As we were both having our semester break, we wanted to meet and catch up over dinner.
We actually planned to meet each other at the park and then decide on where to go later, but my friend got there pretty late so we ended up staying there. We got two takeout milk tea glasses and kebabs from a small street vendor and found a comfortable corner to enjoy ourselves. We sat there watching people passing by, talking about random things that came up. The weather that day was pretty nice actually. It was raining in the evening all week, so we were worried that we might have to go home early. But it turned out to be a fine evening.
I guess what makes the day special was the fact that, despite having to wait for my friend to show up and then not going anywhere like we originally planned to, we still had a lot more fun than I had expected. We updated each other on what was going on in our lives and discussed our plans for the future. It was a nice feeling to know even though we couldn’t meet and talk frequently, we could still bond easily over milk tea and kebabs. It made me realize that sometimes we only need good company and good conversations to make something memorable.
Who should people spend more time with?Family or friends?
The main reason why family time is important is because you need to develop ties and bond with your family. Often kids decide to join gangs or groups because they welcome them in, to become a part of their family. ... Spending family time together ensures that a deep, strong, family bond develops.
What’s the difference between staying with friends and staying with family?
They know your secrets, family do not know.(in most of the times), they wont bother (friends) if you are waking up late in morning.
You can live your life the way you want, i mean you can play music in high volume, you can go out any time......etc etc, but whenever you are home you are suppose to be in disciplined manner.
Do people prefer being with a large group of people or with a few friends?
A few close ones is what I thought at first, then I realized it depends on your capacity to love and respect others and the culture you share.
Friends should challenge you to be a better person. They share. They support. I don't think you can have too many friends. You just have to adapt the expectations.
Do science and technology improve the relationship between people?
technology plays a role in romantic relationship communication. Since people in relationships tend to use multiple methods of communicating (e.g., phone, text, email, social media), they argue that the way those modes connect with one another matters. Their Communicative Interdependence Perspective says that if my husband and I are able to easily switch from communicating face-to-face in the morning, to gchatting during the day, to communicating face-to-face again at night, our relationship is likely closer and more satisfying.
