篇1：医学英语翻译技巧
翻译英文医学文献，不是从英文直接到中文，而是通过理解之后，再用准确、流畅的中文把它表达出来。
完全拘泥于原文的对号人座式的翻译是译不出高质量的译文的。
那样译出的文章必然刻板、生硬，甚至文不从，意不顺。
要避免这些问题的出现，就要注意中文和英文之间的某些细微而又非常重要的差别，并掌握一些基本的翻译方法和技巧。
(一)透彻理解原文
这是翻译原文的前提。
对原文理解得透彻与否，对表达原文的意思至关重要。
翻译时，要把原文先看二三遍，做到:1.弄清原文的主题思想，明确原作者的写作目的。
主题、目的明确了，才能从总体上把握译文，不会出现大的偏差，也才能使译文连贯通顺。
2.弄清原文的文体风格。
文体风格明确了，才能使译文的文体接近原文的文体，将原作者的风格再现。
3.弄清原文的整体结构，由哪几部分组成，每部分主要表达什么意思以及各部分之间的关系如何。
弄清了以上几点，再着手翻译，这样头脑里有了文章的全局和整体概念，以此来指导具体翻译，才有可能译出高质量的译文。
(二)正确选择词语
英译中词语的正确选择取决于对原文词义的确切理解，而对原文词义的确切理解又取决于对原文上下文的反复推敲。
有些词看起来很简单，其实除了用在普通英语外，还有专业意义，如the first attack不是“首次攻击”，而是“初次发病”，又如a change of air不是“空气变化”，而是“转地治疗”。
Influenza is an acute self-limited infection and is characterized by constitutional symptoms, although the infection is restricted to the respiratory tract普通词self-limited“自身限制的”，在这里要加以引伸，译为“定期自愈的”，此句可译为:流感是一种定期自愈的急性传染病，虽然传染只限于呼吸道，但其特征却是全身性症状。
以上实例说明，只有正确选择词语，才能正确表达原文的内容。
(三)被动语态的翻译
英文医学文献常出现被动语态的句子，而中文较少采用被动语态，故多将被动语态译为主动语态，但在有些情况下，也可把英文的被动语态译为中文的被动语态。
具体翻译时，可采用以下几种方法。
1.译为中文主动句
如果英文被动句的主语(即受动者)为无生命的东西，而施动者又不十分具体时，就宜直接译为中文主动句，即把原文被动句中的主语保留下来，作为中文主动句中的主语，后面直接跟上谓语。
Urine is formed in the kidneys.
尿在肾内形成。
All the signs were restricted to glossitis.
所有的体征都没有超出舌炎的范围。
The operation was performed under general anesthesia.
手术是在全身麻醉下进行的。
The digested food is absorbed almost entirely from the small intestine.
消化过的食物几乎全部地由小肠吸收。
The incidence has been reduced to 0. 5 percent as compared with before.
和以前比较，发病率已降到千分之五。
2.译为中文被动句
如果动词表示的动作不利于受动者的场合，就可译为“被”字，以及“由、让、爱、给、遭、加以、为…所”等结构。
The brain is regarded as one of the most important organs influencing behaviours.
脑被视为影响行为最重要的器宫之一。
Fever may be brought on by infection.
发烧可由感染引起。
3.以形式主语为前导结构的译法
It is estimated that lesions 3 cm in size can be detected.
据估计，可以测出三厘米大小的病灶。
It has been shown that some bacteria under the right conditions may grow to full size and reproduce two new bacteria every twenty minutes, capable of destroying tissues or producing toxin.

(四)定语从句的翻译
英语定语从句分为限制性定语从句和非限制性定语从句两大类。
一般都置于被修饰的名词或代词之后，但在翻译时，具体处理的方法并不完全相同。
1.限制性定语从句对所修饰的名词或代词起限制作用和明确作用，一般译为定语结构，置于被修饰词之前
All the poisons that are absorbed in any part of the body are sooner or later brought to the liver.
机体各部分所吸收的全部毒物迟早都会被带到肝脏。
A patient who is in profound shock from acute blood loss should have emergency blood replacement and surgical treatment immediately.

2.非限制性定语从句对被修饰词起描述作用和补充作用，一般译为并列分句

(五)长句的处理
医学文献，出于叙事说理的需要，其中的长句很多，并且长句大多为并列句或复合句或并列复合句。
在理解全句的前提下，经过化整为零步骤时，据此组成的各个主句、分句和从句大多可化为简单句。

这个长句是由第二个and连接2个并列分句，所以应该先译第一分句，而在第一个分句里有1个介词短语with the exception of water，主语是sugar, fat and protein，谓语则是account for,整个长句可译为;在这些营养物中，除水外，糖、脂肪及蛋白质所占份额较大，所以把它们叫做三大营养素。
(六)图像资料的处理
在翻译过程中，还要对原文中的图像资料进行适当的处理。
原则是能删节的就把它去掉;确有较大参考价值的就将其“转化”为文字形式，或者编译成一个小的自然段，或者穿插到适当的字里行间中去。
除了上述介绍的一些翻译方法和技巧，当然还有许多办法都能处理好英文医学文献的翻译问题。
但总的来说，由于中外文化的明显差异，英文医学文献的翻译是一个较为复杂的问题，需要我们通过学习建立起对汉英两种语言的转换意识，避免汉化英语和英化汉语，努力从实践中探寻出规律性的东西，从而全面提高翻译水平和译文质量。

模糊性语言我们随处可见，它是人类语言主观性的体现，在交际中具有重要作用。
医务工作者的交际对象是一个特殊群体— — 病人。
在同他们交流的过程中，若恰当地使用模糊词语，就尊重了患者，又获得了患者的尊重;增加所陈述命题的准确性和可信度;还表示谦虚，起到了自我保护等功能。
1 什么是模糊语
人们对模糊语(vagueness)的系统研究由来已久。
美国实用主义和符号学的创始人、世界著名哲学家Pierce于19给语言的模糊性所下的定义通常被评论为“first and rigorous”(Joanna Channell，：7)。
Pierce指出：“当事物出现几种可能状态时，尽管说话者进行了仔细的思考，实际上仍不能确定，是把这些状态排除出某个命题(proposition)，还是归属于这个命题。
这时候，这个命题就是模糊的。
上面说的实际上不能确定，我指的并不是由于解释者的无知而不能确定，而是因为说话者的语言特点就是模糊的”(伍铁平(模糊语言学>：136)。
美国控制论专家扎德(L.A.Zadeh)说：“现实世界中所遇到的大部分类别是模糊的——有些只是稍微模糊，有些则是显著地模糊。

人类思维是由存在决定的，客观存在的模糊性决定了大脑思维的模糊性。
大脑思维的模糊性决定了语言的`模糊性(1ingual vagueness)。
我们可在人类自然语言中发现大量的模糊语言，如：大、小，好、坏，轻、重，快、慢，白天、夜晚等，这些对立的范畴之间并不存在明显的界限。
由于语言的模糊性在词语及其意义上表现最为明显，根据不同的模糊现象可将其分为：
1.1模糊附加词(vague additives)
附加在意义明确或模糊的表达形式之前的词或短语，其作用是使本来意义明确的概念变得模糊或使本来意义模糊的概念在程度上受到限制。

医学论文的题目（title）是论文主要内容的高度凝练，表明其研究对象和研究方法的最恰当简明的词语逻辑组合。就医学论文题目英语翻译而言，“作者不仅在题目的选词上要力求准确，意思表达要清楚，更重要的是要符合英语医学论文题目的写作习惯和要求，为国际医学同行、读者所接受”。
一、医学论文题目翻译原则
名词性短语（ noun phrase）是医学论文英文题目最主要的表现形式。在能准确、如实地反映文章主要内容的前提下，字数越少越好，最好在12个单词以内，通常最多也不要超过16个单词。对较长的题目，作者可以采取增加副标题（ sub-title）的方法进行补充说明，医学论文英文题目的翻译原则可主要归纳为如下的三个方面。
1.在医学论文汉语题目当中，经常出现如“浅谈……”“试论……”“………的研究”“……的探讨”等这样的词语表达，但上述词语的使用并不符合医学论文英文题目的翻译原则。这是因为按照西方人的观点，上述表达本身并没有什么具体的含义，也不能反映出研究的对象和方法。所以，“当汉语题目带有‘研究‘报告‘观察‘分析等词时，译成英语均可省略不译”。换句话说，英文题目中通常不会出现“Research on…”“The Study of…”“An Investigation of…”等这样的词语表达，目的是为了突出重点。例如：
（l）桔梗药材及饮片的质量标准研究

依据题目的翻译原则，上例在翻译成英文题目时无须翻译出“研究”二字，即不用写“The Study of…”。
2.英、汉两种语言在用词上有显著差别。在汉语里经常是动词的使用很频繁，但名词的使用比较少，介词用的也不多。因此，汉语题目中常出现动词或动词性短语，也可看到用一个完整的句子作为题目的情况。但在英语里名词的使用很频繁，介词也经常出现在题目中，反而动词用得相对比较少，这是因为出于表达习惯.英文题目往往是由名词性短语构成的，题目中通常不出现动词或动词性短语，一般也不用完整的句子作为题目。因此在医学论文英文题目翻译的过程中，应选取英语动词的动名词形式或其名词形式来代替医学论文汉语题目中相应的动词，用英语名词性短语的形式来替换汉语句子式题目。例如：
（2）手法结合中药治疗膝关节积液症

上例汉语题目其英文翻译是由多个名词和短语组成的。“手法”的英语动词形式为“manipulate”，这里用了其相应的名词形式，即“manipulation”；“治疗”的相应英语动词形式为“treat”，这里用了含有其名词形式“treatment”的短语，即“inthe treatment of”。
3.年代时间或病例数在医学论文汉语题目中往往是突出的重点，一般出现在主标题之中，通常不会放在副标题里，并且医学论文不少题目中信息含量比较大，因而题目中包含的文字也较多；而在英文题目中年代时间、病例数或者题目名称较长的时候，常常是采用一个副标题的形式来说明年代时间、病例数或把题目中的部分次要信息转移到副标题上，从而达到突出重点的`目的。此外，在翻译成英文题目时，一般在主、副标题之间用冒号隔开。例如：

二、医学论文题目翻译方法
1.表示“某种方法治疗某种疾病”的常用英文题目表达方式为：1）治疗方法+ for+疾病名称；2）Treatment of+疾病名称+by+治疗方法。例如：

三、医学论文题目翻译要求
1.标点符号一般不会出现在英文题目当中，因为英文题目要求是名词性短语而不能是句子的形式，但如果有副标题出现在英文题目中的时候，在主标题之后常用冒号来引出副标题，这与汉语中用破折号引出副标题是不同的。
2.英文题目中缩略词（ abbreviation）的使用需要论文作者加以重视。一般情况下，那些全称很长，并且使用已久的缩略词可以直接应用于英文题目当中，例如DNA（deoxyribo-nucleic acid，脱氧核糖核酸）、HPLC（High Performance LiquidChromatography，高效液相色谱法）等。但读者对于绝大多数的医学英语缩略词并不认识和熟悉，因而应该在第一次出现时使用其全称，之后括号里附上它的缩略形式。例如：
