1、Describe a foreign city/ country you’d like to visit

2、Describe an interesting shop

3、Describe a workplace

4、Describe a hotel/restaurant

5、Describe a historic site

6、Describe a nature beauty

7、Describe your ideal house

8、Describe a park/garden

9、Describe a special street

10、Describe a river/lake

11、Describe a place near the water

Describe a foreign city/ country you’d like to visit

Describe a place near the water

Describe a river/lake

Describe a foreign city/ country you’d like to visit

You should say:

Which city/country it is

How you know this city/country

Who you would like to go with

and explain why you like to travel there

Describe a park/garden

Describe a special street

Describe a park or a garden

You should say:

What the park is called

Where the park is located

What features the park has

and explain why you love the park or the garden

Disney World and Disneyland

Two theme parks built by the Walt Disney Co. (see Disney Co.), a U.S. corporation that became the best-known 20th-century purveyor of entertainment. Disneyland, an interactive, family-oriented fantasy environment that opened in Anaheim, Calif., in 1955, was Walt Disney's response to typical amusement parks, which entertained children but not their parents. The park, which has architecture that is a blend of futurism and nostalgic 19th-century reproductions, has different sections devoted to specific themes. Walt Disney World opened near Orlando, Fla., in 1971. Besides containing Epcot Center (an idealized city), Disney-MGM Studios, and the Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom theme parks, Disney World was the first amusement park to incorporate hotels (including two designed by Michael Graves) and sports and other recreational facilities into its master plan.

III.

Describe an interesting shop

Describe a workplace

Describe a hotel/restaurant

Describe your ideal house

Describe a hotel/restaurant

You should say:

Where the hotel/restaurant is

What the hotel/restaurant is famous for

What you can enjoy at the hotel/restaurant

and explain why you often go to this hotel/restaurant

IV. 景点类

Describe a historic site

Describe a nature beauty

Describe an interesting historic site

You should say:

where it was

what you saw at this site (or, what it looked like)

what role it played in history

and explain what interested you about that place

Describe a museum/an old building/your favorite building/an important traditional building等,例如北京故宫里的建筑,即是古老而传统的建筑,又是很重要的博物馆,也可以是自己最喜欢的建筑。

Sample:

Well, you know, China is a country with a long history, and I have visited some of those historical places. Here I would like to talk about one of them-the “Summer Palace”. To be frank, it is too hard for me to describe this famous historical place in only one or two minutes. I will just give you a brief introduction of Summer Palace.

It was built in 1764, located in west of Beijing, far from the city center. It was known as the biggest Royal Garden. There are a large quantity of trees and flowers. The long corridors, pavilions together with the lake make a marvelous landscape. It has been destroyed for several times. After 1949, our government rebuilt it and protected it well. Now it is a famous historical place in the world heritage list. I think it is worthy to take visit there.

Topic:

Talk about a historical building in your country or city that you know.

You should say:

What and where is it?

When was it built? Why?

What is it known for?

Sample answer:

I’d like to talk about a building near where I grew up as a child.it’s called Assen’s Fortress. It’s about two kilometers away from Assenovgrad where I spent a lot of my childhood. The fortress is located on a very steep ridge which overlooks the Assenitsa River. It was named Assen’s fortress by the local people following the national liberation of 1878. There is one special building within the fortress which is a church,it’s name is Sveta Bogoroditsa Petrichka and it was constructed in the 12th century.

The original fortress on the site was built by the Thracians as a stronghold for protection some time during the 5th - 4th centuries B.C. and it was a very busy and important site during the Roman and Byzantine eras. When they excavated the site they managed to uncover the walls of the fortress, the feudal lord’s castle and also some water reservoirs. The church though was the only building on the site which was really well preserved.

It has two levels, or floors, with a large dome with a cross on top and a wide antechamber… it’s a structure a bit like a porch, as well as a large square belfry located above it.This church is famous in Bulgaria because of its incredible architecture, the decoration of the south facade, which was done using plastic, and also because of the remains of some unique 14th century murals.

I like the building because when I used to visit it I could imagine what it was like hundreds of years ago when people used to live there, and the view is quite impressive also.

1.Great wall of China was an ancient gigantic defensive project. It is one of the largest construction projects ever completed. Great Wall is one of the greatest wonders of the world. It winds its way westward over the vast territory of China from the bank of the Yalu River and ends at the foot of snow-covered Qilianshan and Tianshan mountains. It is seldom that we see such a gigantic project in China or elsewhere in the world. The Chinese call it the Wall of 10,000 li. Its size is better seen on a map or from an aerial photograph. According to astronauts who looked back from the moon, of all projects built by man, the Great Wall of China is the most conspicuous seen in space.

Topic:

Describe a hotel you have stayed in.

You should say:

where the hotel is

why you stayed at that particular hotel

what the view from the hotel is like

and explain what makes the hotel special.

Sample answer:

About 6 months ago I was sent by my company to solve a problem for a client. The client was located in a remote island off the mainland and so I had to drive to the coast and then take a flight to the island. The plan had been to go there early in the morning and then fly back late afternoon because there were only two flights that day. Unfortunately, while I was there the weather turned really bad and a really strong storm moved in from the sea and so it was impossible to fly out in the afternoon.

So someone at the company arranged a local hotel for me to stay at, when hopefully I would be able to fly out again. The hotel was really small and there were only four rooms, but it was so cool. It was like an old farmhouse with a big open fire, and the owner, a middle-aged lady, was really friendly and made sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. When dinner was served in the evening I met another guest and we had a coffee afterwards and the owner also joined us and told us a little more about life there and her hotel. It was really fascinating that I’d never stayed anywhere so remote before, so it was quite an adventure.

As for the view from the hotel, that night it wasn’t very impressive because all you could see was the rain and some of the lights along the coast but early the next morning when the sun came up it was quite spectacular to see the light bouncing of the ocean and the birds flying around. The storm had passed but the waves were still crashing onto the shore and you could see some of the fishing boats in the harbor as well, so it was really quite picturesque.

Anyway, by about midday the pilot had gotten the all clear to fly again and shortly after that we were off and flying back to the mainland.

I’ve stayed in quite a few hotels over the years, but I’ll never forget that one,it was just so different, more like staying with an old friend in their house because the atmosphere was very homey and not like most commercial hotels.

NO.1 A Historic Site

Describe an interesting historic site that you visited.

You should say:

· where it was

· what you saw at this site

· what role it played in history

and explain what interested you about that place

Place

Describe a museum/an old building/your favorite building/an important traditional building等,例如北京故宫里的建筑,即是古老而传统的建筑,又是很重要的博物馆,也可以是自己最喜欢的建筑。 Describe the best tourist attraction in China,或者可以描述里面的an interesting exhibition,所以只要提前做好充足的功课,遇到其它问题也都可以迎刃而解。

NO.2 A Place Not Polluted

Describe a place which is not polluted.

You should say:

· where this place is

· what it looks like

· what kind of place is not polluted

and explain what you think about pollution

Place

Sleeping

1. How many hours do you sleep every day?

2. Is it necessary to sleep enough?

3. Is taking a nap important?

4. Do old people sleep a lot?

1. How many hours do you sleep every day?

可以借助频率词:usually,sometimes,once in a while,occasionally,或者是on weekdays ,on weekends,on holidays 等。

通常我每天睡几个小时,几点到几点,还可以给出原因,对学生来说睡前完成作业,finish the homework and prepare for the next day。

Actually,on weekdays,I usually sleep for just 6hours at most. Because I have to stay awake, finish my homework and prepare for the next school day until midnight and I must get up around 6:30 to fresh up myself then commute to school for 45mins. Fortunately, on weekends or holidays, I can stay in bed as long as I wish, maybe for 10 hours or even more.

2. Is it necessary to sleep enough?

比如 storage up energy养精蓄锐; get a clear mind for the next day第二天精神状况更好等; 另一个也很容易描述的方面是:实际情况是怎样。

Sure, definitely. It’s extremely important to sleep for at least 7hours a day. So that one can storage up energy and get a clear mind for the next day. However, the fact is nothing like this. Almost everyone I know stays up quite late either having entertaining activities, playing smart phones or doing their job or homework. Lacking of bedtime is already a serious social problem nowadays.

3. Is taking a nap important?

午休taking a short break in the midday.

Honestly,I’m not so sure about this,I have heard that taking a short break in the midday prevents us from getting sleeping or dizzy in the afternoon. But in reality, the majority of my classmates including myself stay quite vigorous and active without it.So it might just be a personal thing I guess.

4. Do old people sleep a lot?

所以同学们还是要积累一下表示老年人的语言: the old, the aged,the senior,甚至也可以引入grandparents 这样的表述。

回答本题目,这是一个询问现状的yes/no问题,切记在回答是否之后,自然要给出一系列细节事实状况,老年人睡眠其实很多,只是睡得早:go to bed so much earlier,大概几点就入睡,但是他们起来的很早,要去晨练 doing some morning exercise in the park ,早市买菜do some grocery shopping, like vegetables and meat for the family 之类的。

As far as I know, the old probably get more hours of sleep, maybe in average 8 hours. They wake up in the morning just as much earlier as they go to bed in the evening. Like my grandparents they start doing some morning exercise in the park with other aged friends at 6,and then go to do some grocery shopping for vegetables and meat for the family in the street market. It is a typical Chinese thing.

According to Wikipedia, History is the study of the past, particularly how it relates to humans.

The history plays a vital role in the development of society. It gives us an insight into who we are and where we come from; it helps us stretch our perspective across time and space to think about what happened in the past and what we can learn from the past; it provides us with a chance to understand the world.

1. Do you like to learn about history?

这是一道喜欢或者不喜欢类的题目,首先我们来学习一下表达‘喜欢’的语言,题目中的like可以替换成be interested in; be into; be fond of; 或者用I find something interesting.不喜欢除了用dislike以外,还可以替换成hate; loathe; be fed up with; be sick of.

注意,答案尽量以Yes, I do. Yes, very much so; Yes, definitely; Yes, absolutely等表达。 No, it’s not my kind of thing来代替。

The historical events are very interesting(历史事件非常有趣);It can make us wise(使人明智)等。

这里推荐给考生一个加分的表达:to have a love-hate relationship with something,意思是说对某物或是某件事情既爱又恨。 (I’m more interested in historical stories rather than in details of names, dates and places.)

范例1: Yes, very much so. I’d say history is my real love. You know, it’s easy for me to get lost while reading historical books or watching some documentaries. I find history very interesting, mainly because it helps me stretch my perspective across time and space to think about what happened in the past and how our ancestors experienced things.

范例2: Well, to be honest, I have a love-hate relationship with history, generally because I’m much into the stories and the insights it gives me into the past, but I’m really struggling in the history exams which are usually centered around dates, names and places.

2. Do you think history is important?

It allows people to understand how culture, politics, economy, society and values developed.

History not only deals with the past but also with how the past led to the present.

It tells us what happened in the past, so that we avoid repeating mistakes.

Yes, I think so. History not only deals with the past, but also with how the past led to the present. So it allows people to understand how culture, politics, society and values developed. More importantly, since it tells us what happened in the past, we could avoid repeating mistakes.

3. Do you think you can learn history from films or TV programs?

(There are many ways to learn about history, such as watching films, reading books, watching documentaries, visiting historical sites, and attending history classes. )。至于哪一种才是了解历史最好的方式(the best way to learn history),每个人心中的答案各不相同。

目前,我们的电影类型有很多,比如comedy(喜剧),action movies(动作片),science fiction films(科幻片),martial arts films(功夫片),romance films(爱情片),war movies(战争片)等等,至于电视节目,种类更是繁多,常见的有reality shows(真人秀),talent search(选人才节目),talk shows(谈话类节目),variety shows(文艺晚会),sitcoms(情景喜剧)等等。

(Some historical events might be rewritten by editors to satisfy the plot),每部电影或者电视节目会站在各自不同的角度看待历史,我们容易受电影或节目中人物和剧情的影响(They may show the history from different perspectives, so that we are easy to be influenced by the characters and plots.),因此我们并不总是能够从电影和电视节目中了解到历史,然而记录片除外,因为其涉及的内容主要是历史或科学(Documentaries mainly deal with history or science)。

It depends. It depends on what the movie or program is. I mean, we usually watch some movies and TV programs in which some historical events are rewritten to satisfy the plots. In this case, I don’t think we can learn the real history. However, we may learn some from documentaries, which are particularly deal with historical issues or science.

4. Do you think the Internet is a good place to learn about history?

(Yes, I think so; Yes I guess so; Yes sort of),然后在给出理由,可以是网络资源充分,且免费,查阅方便等等(give a convenient access to information on almost everything)。

(No, I don’t think so; No, I don’t think it’s necessarily the case.),然后给出原因,可能是因为网络信息并不总是可靠或者客观(not always reliable or objective),也可能是因为网络当中充斥着大量的误导或虚假或歪曲的信息(be awash with some misleading or false or distorted information),还有可能是因为网络上信息量过于庞大导致很难找到真正有用可靠的信息(With so much information in the website, people may find it difficult to search for the useful and reliable information which they really need)。因此我们应当慎重使用网络信息(be careful in using the information on the internet)

范例1:Yes, I guess so. It’s mainly because the Internet gives us a convenient access to information on almost everything we need. So I usually go to some news and education websites to read some information about history or other things.

范例2: Well, I don’t think it’s necessarily the case, mainly because the stuff on the Internet is not always reliable or objective. You know, everyone can publish their own ideas on the websites so the Internet might be awash with a huge amount of misleading, false or distorted things. In addition, with so much information in the website, people may find it difficult to search for the useful and reliable information which they really need. So yeah, that’s basically why I suppose not.

Describe a public place that you think need improvements

You should say:

What the place is

When do you go there

What do you like and dislike in the public place

The public place that I think need improvements is the community library near my home. I often go there after work, probably twice a week.

There are several aspects I like about the library. The first one is the whole atmosphere. Every time I go into the library, I can see people in all ages reading books, surfing in the internet, discussing questions, or watching movies, which makes me feel peaceful. The second one is the variety of books. It not only has Chinese books but also some English books. The third one is the easy access to all the materials. Application to the library card is easy and free. People can borrow 6 books for one time.

However, there are some parts I don't like about the library. For example, the library doesn't have a quiet study area. It's pretty noisy for people or students who want to study lonely and quietly. The library can consider to build a quiet study room in the future.

The city I most want to live in the future is Guangzhou. It is located in Guangdong Province, southern China. It's not far away from Hong Kong.

I like to live in this city for several reasons. First of all, it's warm in winter. I personally don't like cold weather. I can still wear sweaters or shirts in December in Guangzhou. Secondly, Guangzhou has a great job market. Career planning is one of the most important things for me. When I consider the city is livable or not, I pay more attention to the job market of the city. Guangzhou is one of the most developed cities in China. In the future, it will need all kinds of professionals to build the city better. I believe this will be a good opportunity. The last reason is the delicious food in Guangzhou. Guangzhou is famous for dim sum, and dim sum is my favorite food.

Long River?

Speaking of an important river, I would like to talk about the Yangtse river, which is the biggest and longest river in China. It’s about 6,300 kilometers long.

The Yangtse River lies in the south of China. It stretches to 11 provinces in China and drains nearly one-fifth of the land areas of China.

If you see it on the map, you will find it looks not that special, maybe just like any other rivers, for example, the Nile or something. However, when you take a closer look at it, you won’t feel like it’s something that other rivers can copy.

I remember when I was in the grade 9, I took a boat trip with my parents to Sanxia, where we saw the most stunning view of the Yangtse River along with the tall green mountains like Shennv Feng.

It is indeed very important, not only for the local residents who need the water for life, but it is also crucial for the entire nation, because there’s the Three Gorges Dam lies on it, and it ha’s been generating a lot of electrical power, which is used for all the families and industries in China.

雅思口语话题part2范文:亲友聚会处(a place you often visit with your friends or family)

Describe a place where you often visit with your friends or family

You should say:

Where the place is

How you know the place

How you go there

Why you want to visit

Today, I’m going to share with you a place where I usually/often go to relax/read and write/ hang out with my friends, which is a small café/restaurant near my company/my house named “ABC”

As a full-time employee/student, I have to go to work/ school 5 days a week; therefore, the only time that I can visit this place is on weekends. I always try to make time for my little trip to “ABC” café every Saturday or Sunday.

The coffee house is located on a quiet street with a lot of trees planted on both sides. Additionally, it has a patio with hanging gardens which I like very much; it makes me feel like I?m sitting in a garden of my own.

Separated from the hustle and bustle of the city life in Hanoi, this place allows me to sit quietly and reflect, relaxing after a week of hard work. I can concentrate on a personal project such asreading or writing in my journal without being interrupted by other people.

It serves great coffee, tea, and cakes, thus, the place always smells very nice. In addition, the employees are also friendly and helpful.

Sometimes, I go there with my friends. Over a nice cup of coffee/tea, we share our stories and smell the beautiful scent of the flowers. At that moment, we can escape from reality for a little while and enjoy ourselves even more.
