There are so many unique cities I have visited and experienced, but the one that really sticks out in my mind is Austin Texas because of it’s mixed lifestyle and nightlife. Actually, I’ve been there several times, and I would go back in a heartbeat.

One of the other things I liked about this area was how clean the streets were. I was happy to see people using the trash receptacle and not throwing their litter on the streets.
Now for one of my gripes! I was not a happy camper with the high prices for drinks, food, and entertainment. I couldn’t believe a domestic beer cost $6 for a pint and the cover charge to listen to music cost between $10 to $15.
All in all, I love this city and would recommend it to anybody who loves nightlife and music.

I enjoyed my stay there very much, as I had not had a holiday for ages and needed to switch off from working. I spent a lot of time reading books and swimming in the sea, which I must admit was quite a lot colder than I thought it would be. I also enjoyed eating the delicious Cretan food, and walking around the ancient streets in the town.

The musicians were playing instruments that I had never seen before, and I loved the style and tempo of the music they played. I can tell you about Periwinkle, commonly known as Sada Bahar in my country. It’s one of the most popular plants here. It is an evergreen subshrub or herbaceous plant growing to 1 m tall. The leaves are oval to oblong, 2–9 cm long and 1–3 cm broad, glossy green, hairless, with a pale midrib and a short petiole; they are arranged in opposite pairs. The flowers are white to dark pink with a darker red centre. The fruit is a pair of follicles. In the wild, it is an endangered plant; the main cause of decline is habitat destruction by slash and burn agriculture. It is also however widely cultivated and is naturalised in subtropical and tropical areas of the world.
My first memory of this pink flower (which I later found out was called the periwinkle) was at my Grandmas place. Every morning she would water the sandy flower beds from which the periwinkles sprang up. I loved watching them nodding at the sun and dancing in the wind. Periwinkles grow perpetually all year through and are also available in shades of white and purple.
Periwinkle is very easy to grow. Just pluck a branch from another plant and stick it in well drained soil. Soon roots will grow and the pink flowers will multiply. I picked a four inch branch one year ago from someone's garden and today I have a flowerbed overflowing with periwinkle flowers.

I thought that the gift was very useful and complemented my purchase very well, because the flowers I planted grew before the tree, decorating the garden quickly while the tree grew. I decided to plant the flowers around the tree and that was a good decision because finally when both were fully grown, the garden looked very colourful.
This whole process helped me to understand the planting procedure and the care that plants require.
Receiving this gift made me feel good for two reasons: first, because I really like the campaigns which endorse care and consciousness about the environment, promoting reforestation.
All this helps people and encourages them to plant and be more aware of being committed to improving the planet. Second, I was happy with the idea of buying a tree, planting it with some flowers and growing a beautiful garden in my home.
Overall, this was a pleasant experience that I highly recommend, because it makes you feel connected to nature by contributing to improve the ecosystem.
